June 2008

We have worked for Cyndi in the past doing some merchandise design so it was a treat to do this poster recently for the True Colors show. My lesbian Ex-girlfriend went and said it was awesome and that Rosie O’Donnel played drums. When I hear Cyndi Lauper, I immediately think of The Goonies, and when I hear Rosie O’Donnel, I think of Dave Chappelle saying “she has dick holes in her underwear”. Two extremely fond memories for me so by all accounts, the True Colors Tour is in fact, awesome. The poster is 4 colors on red stock, 18×23.  This poster is for sale, just email info@ironforgepress.com for pricing and shipping info.

UPDATE 6/30/08 10PM EST: This print is officially SOLD OUT! thanks to everyone who bought one or expressed interest in it. We appreciate the luv!

Thoughts arrive like butterflys. I guess that means at one point my thoughts were caterpillars. I think this is a metaphor somehow for Eddie Vedder calling me gay. I will explain later. This poster is entirely not gay however. Basilio illustrated this one and Chuck laid it out and type treated it. It is 4 colors on white cardstock 18×23. We have a few for sale. Inquire to info@ironforgepress.com for pricing and shipping info. A portion of the proceeds go to convincing Temple of the Dog to get back together for another studio record. I wish I weren’t lying about that.

Oh, and a sweet poster. Robert Smith cried at the end of the performance here in Fort Lauderdale. There was a range of speculation as to why, but we can assume it was because of the joy he felt looking at our sweet Cure poster. 4 colors on black cardstock 18×23 and this piece is for sale as hell! Contact us at info@ironforgepress.com for pricing a shipping info. Sweet.

UPDATE: 7/18/08: we no longer have copies of this print for sale..you can check with lonestar posters or Philaarts for a copy.

Mudhoney makes me think of the Meat Puppets and the Melvins for some reason. Lots of “M” bands. But this poster makes me think of getting killed by a shark naked in the ocean. Something is wrong with me. Illustration credit for this dynamite drawring to Scotty Baldwin scottybaldwin.com. The Poster is 5 colors on chipboard 17×22 (NOT FOR SALE) for New Art School.

The folks who organize the Hukilau had us print a sweet poster for this years production.  The poster is 6 colors on chipboard 17×22 and is not for sale by us.  John Kissee did the illustration for the print. This can be purchased from The Hukilau.
Hukilau 2008

After two long years in the making, we feel safe announcing that the collaborative T-shirt box set we’re doing with our pal, photographer Jonathan Postal is finally gonna be out soon. In fact, I feel confident saying that we will have it out in time for gift-giving on National Creamsicle Day. And wouldn’t that be sweet? chilling, grilling, and illin’ in the heat of the summer, slurping on a creamsicle all running down your hand, in one of these sweet, soft-printed T-shirts featuring one of Jonathan’s iconic punk-rock era photos across the front. More details as they become available…
